When spring arrives and nature bursts into color, preschoolers naturally want to create and celebrate alongside it. This handprint tulip craft lets your child use their own body as a paintbrush—a magical moment that transforms a simple arm and hand into a blooming flower garden. Unlike sticker projects or coloring pages, handprint crafts build genuine confidence because children can see exactly how *their* unique hands created something beautiful and permanent. Best of all, it's a gloriously messy activity that preschoolers will want to do again and again, making it perfect for indoor spring celebrations or rainy afternoons when you need an engaging project.
Step 1: Set up your art station with confidence. Lay newspaper flat across your table and smooth out any wrinkles so the paper stays stable when your child presses down. Have all paint colors open and ready in a line, and dress your preschooler in clothes you're happy getting paint on—or celebrate the mess without worry. Tell your child: "Today we're going to make spring flowers using your arm and hand as our paintbrush!"
