PreschoolRocks.com has been a trusted resource for parents and caregivers since 2006. Founded by Stacey Lloyd, our mission is simple: give every family free access to high-quality early childhood ideas without needing a teaching degree or a big budget.
Every activity is designed for ages 2–6, uses materials you already have at home, and takes 20 minutes or less. We cover crafts, science, fitness, nutrition, music, books, outdoor adventures, and much more.
A Father's Day card or keepsake made from a child's handprint shaped into a baseball is perfect for the sports-loving dad. White paint handprint + curved stitching lines = a baseball that any dad will recognize and treasure.
Step 1: Handprint the baseball. Paint the child's palm and all five fingers white. Press onto cardstock in a round shape — fingers together so the hand looks like a round ball.
Step 2: Add stitching. Once dry, use a red marker to draw curved stitching lines across the handprint in a baseball pattern.
Step 3: Write the message. "You're my MVP, Dad!" + the child's name and date.
Step 4: Frame or card-mount. Present as a framed print or fold cardstock in half and mount on the cover.
Symbolic representation — Turning a handprint into a recognizable object is creative thinking.
Sports and interest connection — Making gifts connected to a parent's passions builds empathy and attentiveness.
Press all five fingers together tightly so the handprint is as round as possible. If the thumb splays out too much, gently tuck it slightly before pressing.
