Father's Day Bookmark

Father's Day Bookmark

A sporty, personalized bookmark for the reading dad — decorated with his favorite team's colors, his name, or a funny message — is a small but meaningful gift that gets used every single day.

What You'll Need

  • Cardstock strip — 2 inches × 7 inches
  • Markers in team or favorite colors — for decorating
  • Ribbon — attached at the top
  • Laminator or contact paper — for durability
  • Optional: photo — of child and dad

How to Do It

Step 1: Decorate. Children draw, color, and write on the bookmark: "World's Best Dad," favorite sports team design, or a portrait of dad and child.

Step 2: Add the ribbon. Punch a hole at the top and thread ribbon through.

Step 3: Laminate. Run through a laminator or seal with contact paper.

Step 4: Present with a book — even better if it's dad's favorite genre.

🎓 Skills Your Child Will Develop

Drawing with purpose — Creating art for a specific recipient and use develops intentional design.

Tips & Variations

  • Attach to a book from the library as a combined gift.
  • Make a set of three with different Father's Day messages.

My Two Cents

Ask the child "What does Dad like?" before they start decorating — the resulting bookmark will be far more personal and meaningful.
