A Baby-Doll
After reading this lovely Christmas story, make your way outside to build your own feathery nest.
Gather anything and everything that might make the manger soft and warm! Leaves, grass, and feathers are a great place to start.
Using your basket, form a nest, just as the birds formed a nest for the much-awaited new King! When you are done, your preschooler can gently place the baby doll into his new-feathered manger.
After building your wonderful manger, ask your preschooler if they would like to add anything to the manager. Perhaps they could add something of their own, to help make baby Jesus' nest even softer and more special.
Maybe you could show your preschooler your appreciation for the season: and share something that is special to you!
You can also use this as a time to remind your preschooler of the reason we celebrate Christmas: this little baby (in his precious feathered-nest) is what makes Christmas so special!
